Prepare to lead nonprofit organizations alongside fellow Christians who have been called to serve around the world. The nonprofit leadership minor combines ministry and business courses to provide real life experience with nonprofit organizations.
Our Nonprofit Leadership minor can be added to a variety of ministry majors or to any number of other majors at Northwestern. Our vision is to equip those who have a special calling to work in nonprofit contexts with the ethical and relational, managerial, and missional skills that they need in order to thrive in their work. We are committed to raising up graduates who can provide Christian leadership in a variety of local and international nonprofit contexts. Christian Service, Ministry Internships, and Intercultural Studies internships can also be completed as a part of this minor.
What will you learn?
You will learn practical business and ministry skills to help you provide spiritual, relational, and managerial leadership in your organization.
Some classes include:
- Introduction to Entrepreneurship
- Ministry in a Globalized World
- Principles of Marketing
- Leadership in Ministry
- Grant Writing
I've been very impressed with how the professors handled tough topics that have come up from a Christian perspective. They don’t shy away from hard topics, and they address them with the awareness that there are real people at stake, not theoretical.
