Joel Johnson joined the University of Northwestern in 2013. Johnson oversees the operations of the Office of Academic Technology and is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for Northwestern’s Learning Management System. He leads the institution’s Academic Technology Roundtable and works closely with IT and academic leadership to ensure the alignment of technology resources and solutions to meet the needs of faculty and students. Johnson earned a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Northwestern-St. Paul (MN) in 2003 and a master's degree in Educational Technology Leadership from the George Washington University (DC) in 2007. He and his wife, Heather, reside in Shoreview with their sons, Isaac and David.
