Dr. Hutchcraft is known as UNWSP renaissance man with diverse fields of study and teaching expertise, including biblical and theological studies, communication, and leadership studies. He has published scholarly articles and spoken internationally on the Biblical topics, Business, and Leadership.

Professor Hutchcraft has served in various pastorates in churches throughout the Midwest for the last 44 years. He has served churches in the Christian and Missionary Alliance, Conservative Baptist, and Conservative Congregational Christian Conference and Evangelical Free Church. He has twice served as an area representative for the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference.

He has been teaching at the University of Northwestern-St. Paul since the fall of 2004. In January 2016 he retired from his position as Program Director and professor for CAGS. He now focuses on teaching as an adjunct professor.

Professor Hutchcraft has served as Chaplain for the St. Louis County (MN) Sheriff’s Department, worked in the public school systems as a substitute teacher, soccer coach, basketball coach, and baseball coach, has been a small-town radio personality as well as being involved in the community as an organizer and leader.

He and his wife Cathy have been married 46 years. They have operated their own businesses. They have two married sons and 13 grandchildren. Professor Hutchcraft's hobbies include fishing, traveling, studying history, and playing with his 13 grandchildren and his two dogs a miniature toy poodle named Sidney and English Lab named Duke.
